The Rumsey Band of Wintun Indians, owners of Cache Creek Casino Resort in Brooks, added four new recipients to its third-quarter list of charitable donations. The gifts total more than $287,000, with more than $33,000 in new pledges.

BROOKS – The Rumsey Band of Wintun Indians announced today their 2006 third quarter charitable donations totaling more than $287,000. Of this total, $33,410 is in new pledges. The Tribe, through its Community Fund, a philanthropic branch of tribal government, has given more than $8.4 million dollars since its inception in October 2000 to local organizations supporting education, community health, arts and humanities, environment, community development and social services.

The Tribe, through its Community Fund, a philanthropic branch of tribal government, has given more than $8.2 million since its inception in October 2000 to local organizations supporting education, community health, arts and humanities, environment, community development and social services.

Beneficiaries of the Rumsey Community Fund contributions during the second quarter include Stanford Settlement Neighborhood Center, Yolo Family Resource Center and Yolo County Court Appointed Special Advocates.
